 The Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN) is established by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) as a specialized vehicle for human development. The Catholic Church in Nigeria has a total of 51 dioceses grouped into nine provinces, serving an estimated catholic population of about 30 million. CCFN is the arm of the church in Nigeria empowered to fight against hunger, disease and ignorance, a role previously played by the Church and Society Department of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).
